1. Mark your calendars for March 8!
ELOQUENT NUDE: THE LOVE AND LEGACY OF EDWARD WESTON AND CHARIS WILSON
**********************************************************************
The first documentary in over 40 years on the great American
photographer Edward Weston and his wife, model, and collaborator
Charis Wilson has been two years in the making and is anxiously
anticipated by Portland?s fine arts community.
Emmy award-winning filmmaker, Ian McCluskey, tells the compelling
story, providing an inside look at the making of an American
photography legacy through the eyes of Wilson, now 92 years old.
?Eloquent Nude? follows one of the great creative partnerships of the
20th Century. Only 19 when they met and fell in love, Wilson would be
his model, lover, artistic collaborator and eventually his wife. She
would help apply for and help Weston receive the first Guggenheim
Grant awarded to a photographer. Together they set off with a camera
and typewriter across the American West during the depths of the Great
Depression.
NW Documentary, Portland Art Museum, Portland Photo Council, NW Film
Center, Pro-Photo Supply and the Regional Arts and Culture Council
proudly present the March 8th premiere.
*****************************************************************************
