Greetings!

I hope this early summer season finds you well and eager for what the future may
bring. And the future looks bright for NW Documentary Arts & Media. Here's
what we've been up to:

** NINTH STUDENT WORKSHOP TO SCREEN NEXT WEEK **
Graduates of the ninth "Exploring Documentary Production" workshop by NW
Documentary's own Ian McCluskey are busy making final edits on their short
documentaries. Join us in supporting them at the Mission Theater next Friday,
June 16th, at 7 pm, for a big-screen adventure in original documentary
storytelling. Your $5 donation at the door will go toward ensuring we continue
this community workshop, which to date, has taught over 150 students how THEY
can be filmmakers. The Mission Theater is at 1624 NW Glisan; enjoy McMenamin's
tasty beer and food while being the first to view these original films.

** TENTH WORKSHOP DATES JUST ANNOUNCED **
Breaking news! The next "Exploring Documentary Production" workshop dates are
set: Wednesdays, July 19-Sept. 20 at Portland Art Center, 32 NW Fifth Ave. Our
newest partner, Portland Art Center, has just opened a spectacular space in the
heart of the First Thursday/Pearl art neighborhood (just a few blocks from our
home, too), and we're pleased to be one of their first community partners. So
pass the word to your friends and family who've always had the yen to make a
documentary. This class is one-of-a-kind and open to all film-lovers,
experienced or novice. For more information, email info at nwdocumentary.org.

** NW DOCUMENTARY QUARTERLY OUT NEXT WEEK **
We've just finished writing the Summer 2006 edition of our newsletter. Pick up
your copy at the screening next week. An email will soon follow with tidbits
from the newsletter, which will feature a look at some of our recent partners
and a historical look at the building we call home, the New Market Theater
building.

That's all for now. Stay tuned for more good stuff and I hope to see you next
week!
